What have you done to your Freelander today

Today I tried to fit the new gearstick gaiter that I bought from ebay from a specialist seller. Supposedly made to fit the facelift FL's perfectly. Well that was a tenner wasted. Lovely quality leather really nice workmanship - shame it doesn't fit at all - way to big a circumference and nothing like the original.

The irny is that they emailed me making sure I was buying it for the right vehicle before they dispatched it.

Drove 100 miles through snow up to 4" (10cm) deep, in Aberdeenshire and in Aberdeen City. :D

Absolutely no problems with road conditions for me except that .......my FL cannot jump over the cars, busses and trucks which were sliding and slithering all over the place.

Well I did a bit of creative butchering and got the gaiter to fit. Real bugger of a job though and I'm glad I had latex contact adhesive lying around - perfect for this stuff!

Correction, just fitted it with the new knob. It looks ****e, a total dumpster fire. I'm going to pick up some scuff remover and shoe polish and just restore the original parts.

Humbug.

Put the Freelander back on it's wheels for the first time in 5 months after it's engine change!! Refitted the plenum and TB .
 
Fitted some heated leather seats, replaced the broken clip from my removable roof, well my mate did while I stood there cheering him on! Then washed and hoovered it, also borrowed a heat gun to restore the black bumpers. That's next on the list although I tried a little bit and it looks amazing!
 
Fitted osram night candles and new wipers (wipers are on offer at eurocarparts) I got a pair of hella wipers for about £8 ! Seems weird not having squeaky wipers!

Morning - just after a bit more info on the fbh, is it possible to manually run it for test etc? If so could you tell me how you do this, temperature hasn't dropped enough here yet for it to start on its own so wouldn't mind giving it a run.

cursed the firms di no end and am in this section after having it to bits and finding ihave virtually no boost so stupid question what boost should a freelander di turbo run at so i can play or point it to the firms freelander guru and get on with fixing tratters and clearing snow with a 2a snow plow fun to drive in the snow though i will give it that
 
changed a rear window regulator (with alot of difficulty) then took off the 1000s of meters of ducktape that had been holding my window up...
 
New NSF brake pipe.
New rear wheel cylinders.
New rear brake shoes.
Greased all handbrake linkage pivots, fulcrums, and pins.
Finally found and fixed the damn irritating rattle from the heat-shield on top of the IRD.

And last - passed the bloody MOT this afternoon with no advisories this time. Yippeeeeeeeeee! :D
