Well...... Got my self a new lift pump, and fitted it, yay car started!
Then I noticed fuel peeing out both ends of the pump!!

Why now?????

So I went to halfrauds and got some fuel hose clips,
Went to fit the top one and..... Snap! Goes the clip!
Ok... Let's try the second! This one worked!
So was thinking. What to do for the bottom of the pump so I fitted both clip on clamp things to be bottom....
Still leaks!

Giving up for tonight gonna go back to halfrauds in morning :(

Ok I finally changed my discs pads and calipers... I thought it was going to be a right pain to do. But everything unbolted no problem and both sides done in just under an hour a side. Cleaned up back plates too.
Now here's a top tip.....before bleeding...... Remember to take off the pipe clamp.

All done except pedal feels slightly spongy. Gonna buy more fluid tomorrow and rebleed. :(

Today's jobs .
Oil and filter changed
Air filterr changed
Crankcase breather filter changed
Partical filter changed and turbo vent filter changed.
Once I'd managed to locate the rear bolt holding the top of the air box... The rest went smoothly.

Next month fuel filter and sort the egr.

Don't think mines been serviced for a long time all the filters were in a terrible state.

Where is the partical filter please

Gave the recently acquired V6 A Shampoo, T-cut and wax this weekend, as well as re-blacking the extended body paneling kit & touching up the rear drum covers (also got around to applying red rim tape to the Thunderace's wheels, but that understandably won't interest you Landy folk)
I also fitted an arm rest between the front seats as I find my left arm at a loose end (figuratively speaking) as a result of the auto-box.
All in all, a productive weekend.

What ever it's called it's the one inside up under the dash.
I'd like to say thanks to you all as I've been reading the forums for a while for hints and tips on everything I've done so far. And couldn't have done it without you all.
And I'm now sitting here well chuffed with myself :D
Cheers guys

Finished my wheel refurb, quite chuffed the way they look, just need to decide what tyres I'm gonna put on them!

All done for less that 20quid!

Also changed the pcv filter for the BMW oil separator and new air filter, noticed a massive difference in the way it drives now

Hooked up a car trailer to it and towed home my sons 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX after it had a failed wishbone.
He was very lucky it failed on a slow back road as the car headed straight into the ditch. ten minutes earlier he was on the motorway.

Lucky fella. No one wants that to happen - but in the circumstances - its sort of 'good' that it happened like that.

Dunno how old your son is, but it is a perpetual worry when your kids get mobile. Our son past his test December before last aged 17, got himself a Rover 220 Tomcat and a week later took himself and 2 mates on a 6 hour drive to Queenstown for summer holiday and concert. No motor ways or dual carriage ways, all UK B (stretching A) type roads, lot of it twisty & steep hilly/mountainous roads but at the national speed limit. He was all cocky and bold as brass - we were nervous wrecks!

He made it OK thankfully - although he didn't make it back - he was 'sick'. We had to drive down, meet him, wife drove him back in Freelander and I drove the Tomcat.... actually that was quite fun - but don't tell him :)

The funniest bit is that when you pass your test here in NZ, you're on a 'provisional'. You aren't allowed to take passengers unless they're on their full license and have to be off the road by 10PM. Of course neither of his mates had licenses - so he was illegal. Its a law that is flouted a lot, but a law all the same and we tried to get him not to drive down - but he ignored us... Anyway, near Queenstown the cops were pulling everyone over and breath testing them. Evidently he was so worried his feet were shaking on the pedals as he drove up to and through the test :) Bit of Karma there. But the cops were only interested in alcohol/drugs and let them through - even told them to pull over and enjoy the free Sausage Sizzle & drinks they had provided !
