What have you done to your Freelander today

Today I drove 60 miles on the red light. I was bricking it I can tell you. But I had to get home as I had forgotten my cash card. :-/

Changed the thermostat today, and the inlet manifold gasket. Hope this sorts my leak issues.. The old gasket leaked very badly and the old thermostat did not open properly, resulting in me driving with the heat on full blast to prevent it from overheating. Very handy with 4 broken windows regulators and a non working AC. (which was pressure testet and regassed lasted only 24 hours before packing up again..)

I hope I no longer need to drive with the OBD2 wifi always connected and a keen eye on the phone..

On a side note, found the really annoying exhaust rattle, heat shield seem to have rusted to pieces..

I installed a pressure gauge on the expansion tank, but I WORK UP TO BE FUNCTIONAL

Bought some genuine LR cross bars & bag to store them in off evil bay.

Makes me laugh the type of gadgets people with petrol freelanders fit to their expansion tanks...etc....you are just waiting for the inevitable..

I just want to monitor the pressure in the system certain reasons

Can you let us know the pressure you measure. Ta.

Two new track rod ends, that my mate kindly fitted for a batch of home made scones!

What symptoms have old cam sensor ???

Rough idle,hard starting,missing slightly in traffic

Also had 2 fault codes.

Oxygen heater circuit and cam sensor range. No mil engine light though

....MOT'd it - passed with no advisories and the tester said it was the best he'd seen for a long while!

Drove it home. First time I have driven it since doing the headgasket in feb/march then mot in April. Think I'm going to have to sell it and be down to 1 Freelander

Also passed its MOT today

In last few days I've changed a rear lens (old one cracked) and treated the old girl to a new 'Freelander' badge on the rear door and today I should be receiving my roof rails (3door) purchased for £115 delivered, cheapest I've seen so far.

Took the front brakes off, cleaned them and put some more copper grease on to try and stop a squeal that occurs at low speed coming to a stop.

Did the 1 wheel up test tother day and hippo says I'm good well within tolerence

Well, fitted a fire extinguisher. Fitted the induction kit and silicone and stainless pipework to the larger intercooler - again !
Must have damaged the radiator in the process of test fitting it last week, hence the thread about damaging the engine with radweld. Anyway, removed the water pump and it was clogged up with radweld.Replaced it with another , but back washed the whole system first to make sure there were no traces of radweld left. It seems luckily that it went no further than the water pump as it was clogged that badly it couldn't pump water around the system.
Anyway, while replacing the rad I decided to remove the redundant air con...........
Anyway, it now runs like a dream . Just needs the silicone cleaning up, it was all new, but greasy hands make greasy hoses.

Rear exhaust rubbers failed in under 6 months so orderd some from floflex.

Like strut brace, wondering how much l-series induction is higher than Td4's, How much clearance is between engine and strut brace?
