what gearbox will be fitted to my landrover ?

hi there , i am looking for any info on my gearbox,
i have a series 3 1980 109
fitted with a vetesse 3.5 v8
i know very little about the workings off landrovers as i am still learning.
i would like to know if my gearbox at the moment is from a petrol landy
or a diesel landy?
and is there much off a diffrence between petrol/diesel gearboxs when fitted to a landy with a v8? (what would u recomened?)
ive tried to add a picture of my box used at the moment
since taking this picture i have added a fairy overdrive
and i feel it might be the gear box causing the lack of omph ,
the landy is flat out about 60mph
ive just put new leads/plugs/cap/rotor arm/coil and a condenssor
on her brand new , and she sounds lovley she ticks over fine its just missing somthing? would the wrong gearbox be the problem?

both, series box is for 2.25 petrol and diesel ,109 v8 had lt95 and defender style front ,fit 3.54 disco ,rrc or defender diffs ,33% ish increase
