what gear am I in

Just got our first freelander 2 GS auto..
Where the mileage is displayed should I be able to see what gear the auto is in..
It shows park, drive, reverse , and so on
Any help please

If you are going backwards its in R.

If its stopped its in P

If its moving forwards its in D.

Ha ha I know how this read.. okay I will try again.. at the side of the p, d , r , n ....
On our last car it also showed the actual gear the automatic was in..

A red LED should light to show which position the selector is in, also on the dash it will say in LCD next to the miles.

I assume you have gears, unlike my unfortunate incident...

no, it tells you just like storm indicated, with the addition of sport for sport mode, in command shift it will tell you what gear you are in.

and no LED on the console next to the gear shift stick?

I assume all gears are OK though???

ah yes, and Sport mode ( HA!) will show which gear as you go up/down...if the LCD is working of course

Okay thanks for that... I was suspicious that the clocks may have been tampered with..only had it 5 days..
