What engine?

Good evening,
I recently purchased a late series iia which has a non standard engine in it. Couldn’t find any markings on it but was wondering if anyone recognises what it actually is from this photo?

Could be a Perkins from a montego but just guessing.

Perkins Prima from a Montego, like he sez^^^^^^^^^.

Thank you both for clarifying that! Are they decent engines or would it be better replacing it with an original 2.25? or even a 200tdi?

Welcome...if it's not running as by the pic I would say not get it running and come back in the Series section with questions...

Perkins are one of the world's most respected engine manufacturers, and their engines are far better than Land Rover's.
If it is working, I would keep it. If it fails in an expensive way, replace it.
