what engine wuz it?

today right,
i was down the breakers yard and i looked under the bonnet of a disco1, there was the weirdest looking engine in it,
it had fuel injection,4 spark plugs( that i could find) and a turbo charger on it,
also it was really big, the top cover was wide, flat and unmarked, there was an obscured land rover parts number sticker on it down below, so i thought it was standard engine, but turbo petrol???
WTF was it,
shall i get some photos?
i'm not really that bothered i'm just obsessed now and can't get it out of my head.
juss curios and wonderering?
any ideas or was i seeing things and making it up, cos i'm lonely?

Was it a mpi?

i think it was to big for an mpi, it was really packed in,and the turbo doesn't make sense to me,
i'll go again tommorow i think.

Rover 220 turbo maybe.

Wasn't there a chap shoe-horned a BMW engine in ? Seem to recall it in one of the magazines ... unless I'm remembering something else ...
