what does the freelander use for traction

hello i have a disco but a friend has a 02 freelander.

i was talkin bwt wen i went lannin and to pnp days...

then i asked him wat sort of traction aid he had cos i have diff lock and the freelanders dnt have a transfer box do they ??

i no the 3lander 2 have the resonse thing but wat bwt the late and later ones ? is it like the disco 2 (sum of them) just traction control !!

The Freelander 1 is permanent four wheel drive, achieved through a transfer box (IRD) and a viscous coupling (IRD).

This is then enhanced by the ABS, traction control and HDC systems.

There is no central diff lock (not required because of the TC and independent suspension) and the transfer box is single ratio.
The independent suspension and light monocoque build help its surprisingly good off road ability.
