hiya,i,m been toying with the idea of choping in my beloved 1998 3.9v8 which is lpg for a newer td5 shape 4.0 v8 but after a bit of research i,ve come to the conclusion parts etc are very expensive so i,m keeping the old truck for a while longer but with 125000 on the clocks the engines feeling a bit tired what will it need to respruce a bit of life into it(camshaft etc)or do i let it go?i,ve read so many horror storys about trading for newer models only for engines to blow up or gearbox to go what do you think:confused:

cam/chain/tappets & change all the oils... you won't believe the difference. It ain't the mileage on the RV8 but how often its been serviced. Had a 3.9 classic on 194,000 which ran miles smoother than the 114 P38 4.0

Engine on the RRC felt like it had another 200k to give... shame the rust had other ideas!
