What did you do with your Range Rover today

I use the van more than the P38 because my dog prefers the van LOL.
The p38 is on the drive plugged in to a charger to keep the battery tip top and mean moving son`s sport, and taking security posts out just to use the p38 so it gets a bit cant be bothered just take the van unfortunately, keeps the mileage down its only on 110k👍

Solar chargers on both mine plugged into the 13 pin trailer socket so just a quick disconnect when I want to use one as today for the 35km shopping run to town.

Like Otto. Covered, trickle charger and dehumidifier on the extension from the outside socket, everyday car parked in front.
If we get the weather and health this year to do the headlining and sort out the roof seep while that is out then it would be easier. As wouldn't need the dehumidifier or the cover so much. Solar trickle would be fine.

I had a fiddle with the sunroof today. Button does nothing, neither does the manual operation. Did notice the sunroof has dropped as a consequence thus letting in water. Headlining soaked more so at the nearside. Just need to fashion a wedge to keep the sunroof closed shut.

Sounds like the little plastic 'lift bits' have broken, duct tape the outside till the weather improves enough for removal ...

The roofs are made by a Inalfa, the largest sunroof manufacturer in the world. parts are should be easy enough to find...
 
Drove through a rather large puddle, making a very big splash and the 'water in fuel' warning came on the dash!! Parked up and when i came to it later on the day the message was gone. Do they self drain? Has the water been cycled back into the fuel tank?
Seemed a bit coincidental, could it be a dodgy wire?

It's a Range Rover so bad connection.

Has another go at getting the CCF off the car, diag is up to date with all the'extra' bits downloaded and validated. Diag is confident that the CCF in the car is invalid. Green ticks across the board talking to all the various modules etc
 
While i was checking diag, saw the water in fuel alert but agrees it's probably a bad connection so I'll check that next time it stops raining.. maybe in April!!
Also came up with a intense code for the dash fan. That sounds like a lot of fun and I'm guessing also a bad connection but probably need the engine and sunroof out to get to it :D

Oo the other thing.. since I've had this car I've used cruise control a lot, especially longer journeys on the flat.. i know it's not the best thing to do on hills.

Anyways, I've stopped using it and I'm getting much better average mpg! Yesterday i got the dash showing 37 when the best I've ever have on the same journey is 29! 🤔
 
Went for a drive in MrGorsky's P38A for the first time since the rebuilt engine has run on. Wow. What a difference, I think all v8s over 120k miles probably need a refresh. Really pulls and almost sprightly. Cannot hear the engine ezcept at low revs or idling when it a a low rumble like thunder trapped in a steel dustbin. Very impressive. V8 developments have done a top notch job ot seems.
 
it failed to turn over this morning, drive to farm in car to pick up spare battery, still failed to turn over, back to farm again to take starter of spare range rover, now the heavens open up

I find on mine it's best to put it in manual when driving on cruise or the slightest incline causes it to drop down a gear.
Cruise control isn't renowned for mpg, it just does whatever it needs to keep the speed correct.
My wife always gets better economy than I do because she doesn't like using cruise
