Very sensibleWow, in two weeks I've been offered a 2008 4.2 SC l322 for 2k€ and a 2010 3.0v6d for 8k€, both with gearbox issues... Fûck that
If you had the spare time, you could probably make a profit breaking the 4.2SC if the engine is good.

The L322 is mainly BMW development apartfrom the Jag engine which was all Jag and excellent.

Following a radiator hose letting go a few weeks ago it occurs to me I'd like to know when the expansion tank is out of coolant before the (damped) temperature guage registers an overheat. Ideally I would have an audible alarm too. Plus an overheat audible alarm, possibly cutting in before the dash guage starts showing because I feel the dash guage is too late. Something that Bluetooths to Android might be a nice addition.
A quick search turned up this at Deom Tweeks but it isn't quite what I am after. Any ideas?!

Insurance renewal just came in, 35% increase. Told them it's not acceptable, they came back with a figure just €7 more than last year but with increased excess which is fine.

Its ok if it local and when you can check the goods before handing over the cash, but there are a lot of scams, same car seven adds in different locations in the country
and give us a 200 deposit and well will hold it for you i mean run away with your hard earned dosh

So after having a reckon up of what it's going to cost for a guaranteed head, gasket set, timing chains kit(both), cam, lifters etc etc it's going to cost more than the car is worth. Swmbo says no it's time for her to go, we've had her since 2012.

Now. Lets do some man math here
.Not sure what problem you have, but with that list of parts I could guess.
So who will take it on? and what's it worth as is?
Add that money to the cost of your parts list and what could you buy?
So.
1. the new car would be a what? not a Range rover.
2. if the work was done how long would it now last? (rest of car condition dont know)and its still a Range Rover.
How difficult is that to not work out the best way through this

Now as sexy as that would look/sound under the bonnet, and it would that's for sure.
V8 fuel consumption is bad enough as it is, plus the injection system is probably the optimum and best overall for the V8.
Plus I think £1795 could be better spent elsewhere.
£250 on a swanky meal/night out with the missis
£1500 in your pocket and in the good books, priceless

I think the Thor fuel map has a lot to be desired. Good for emissions, not for the engine and probably not for mpg

I use it a lot, same products you can pay a lot for from some UK or French supplier at a fraction of the price.
