What did you do with your Range Rover today

And talking about grounds......................Buttercup was starting to get a bit optional in the starting department, a few times I needed to turn the key 2 or 3 times to get the starter wizzing round. Everything seemed ok until I got to the ground off the starter to bulkhead, just a little loose so took off, still cleanish, but cleaned everything up and used some copper coat on re-assembly.
Seems to have fixed it, time will tell.:)

Yes, i did label the lpg injector wires, so that should be straight forward. I hope. There's a lpg temp sensor and vacuum sensor as well

Yeah I did already spot them as they were easy enough to figure out what with being proper connectors. Just need to plump in the gas line on the passenger side reducer as that was already hanging out, double check all the clamps are nice and tight and then do that last bit of wiring and with any luck, she will run. Turns out that are 3 places very local to me that sell the lpg gas and thats not including corley services which is also close by albeit more expensive being motorway though still cheaper than petrol. So should be pretty good for being able to use lpg most of the time I reckon at least for the forseeable future.

Does the brain need telling there's a tow-bar fitted or have Land Rover done something clever to stol it recognising after-market kits? They'll be something for the tell-tale on the dash so can you take a feed off that to take the reversing sensor wire off the reverse switch either high or low?

Be careful. I've had 2 cars now where the nuts were on super tight and I wrecked the special tool trying to get the f*ckers off. One stud actually sheared off in the hub. Kids with windy-guns hammering them up!

It was an absolute lickout. Was glad I was able to recruit a Fijian to crack off the hubnut. Was surprised to find the old joint was fine, the noise was all because a circlip failed. Not really sure what could've caused it to fail. But hey-ho, I had a full kit to replace the corner so I did anyway, means the old joint is now a spare. I just need a CV boot kit to keep in the garage just in case.

Also, the factory hub nut is 32mm, the replacement item was 36mm. Worth knowing in case you don't have a 36mm socket in the toolbox. I was lucky one of the wife's friend was able to pick one up for me from a popular orange store. Also, a 36mm socket only just fits in the centre bore of the wheel. Took a small amount of paint off the wheel when I tightened it up.

That brings back horrible memories.

36mm is Britpart nut. There's a place in Brum that sells the 32 mm ones - much better because unless you have a 36mm thin walled socket the damn socket won't fit. Or you can get 32 mm off Land Rover if you need a cashectony. Trying to remember what the Brum site was called. Parts2u or something? Might be on my yhread where I did my CV boot.

I did a How To in the Technical Section for doing the CV boot. Er, I wonder if that still exists on yhe new site?!

You mean the locking nut? They are all well chewed up i might get a set of 25 new wheel nuts, who steals wheels anymore?

I wouldn't have thought so as it appears to be factory fitted with a land rover instruction book.. but maybe bought from the main dealer at a later date? Maybe needs something switching in software
 
Got another 350ml out over night plus the 250ml I got out yesterday that I emptied before I left for the night.

Put a fan heater in mainly pointed at the folded over carpet sponge and Already got another couple hundred ml I reckon in the space of an 30 mins.

One of the benefits of air.. it's not going to suck out that much, but it does help keep things dry

Certainly, assuming I get onto the sealing up today presumably I won’t have to worry about mass amounts getting in soaking up the underside of the carpet.

Gotta do a favour for a mate first but that’s fine as it means I can borrow his car and grab some silicone and electricky stuff to finish sort out the lpg.

It’s a mini I will be driving so it’s gonna feel like my arse is on the floor and the suspension is so hard I’ll be lucky to have any discs not crushed to dust in my spine especially with the state of the roads round here

I resorted to installing disposable nappies under the carpet of our Jaguar to draw the moisture out of the foam on carpet underside to avoid having to pull them out, did the job. The water was getting in through a 5mm gap in the outer door rubber, what a pain.

True enough, my wheels are shod in G015s. At almost £200 a corner now. 🙃
Although I was lucky that they were only £100 a corner when I got them. I could get a full set of 5 alloys for under £100.

I’m fortunate enough to have 20” for winter and 22” for summer so definitely locked, wouldn’t fancy having to replace those.

Holy ****. My General Grabber AT2s were £100 a corner, fitted. Still plenty of tread on them so I will be running those until they're slicks.
