What did you do with your Range Rover today

Replacement speaker arrived and duly fitted, what a difference 1 speaker makes :D

Today I went and bought two pre used electric window motors and mechanicals. Took them home, stripped my door cards and drilled out rivets and removed the existing wonky motors with worn teeth. I fitted the passenger side and it was an absolute bastard!!! But got it in and it works perfectly. The. I done the same to the drivers side but after it was in and riveted back in place, I tested it and discovered that it too was buggered. Trip to my local breakers again, and redone all of the above until my two dodgy windows and now working perfectly. Last week, 8 stripped out the aftermarket, tv screens, DVD player and free view receiver and aerials, so today I also got two replacement headrests and fitted them. Lastly, I fitted a new battery. So after a fortnights ownership, the only thing that doesn’t work is the cruise control. Will get to that next month
 
Replacing the rivets with a nyloc nut and bolt is a good upgrade for securing the regulators, after a while the rivets work loose and the entire assembly rattles in the door!
This stops that ;)
 
Was still having issues with front nearside suspension then noticed the front n/s wheel twitching up and down slightly on the 4x4 info screen, disconnected and reconnected height sensor plug a few time and now seems stable. Fingers crossed it stays level now.

When you do it, dont do what I did. Try not to get too thick a coat of PVA in the hollows and depressions, cos if you then press too hard on the material to get it in, you could have some PVA coming through to the surface. As said it didn't matter to me that my attempt was a bit tatty, but I'd like to think I had learnt something from it and would make a better job next time.

Thanks mate. Got to say I just love it. Had a dhse a few ago and loved that too but I like this one even more. 150 made across the range of defender, hippo, freelander and rr, so have emailed dealer where car was sold from to see if I can find out how many were made in rr. I have a couple of bits of rust to sort as well as the cruise control and two outside map lights, and I need a battery cover but overall for a 19 year old car, it’s pretty good, only done 112k. Have a guess how much I paid for it?
