Almost turned it into a convertible while getting out of a carpark in Guildford. Was a good way to remind me how big she is though. After spending the last 2 months doing C and C+E, she has felt like a go-kart in comparison to my usual whips.

Used it in place of a pool vehicle to take a bunch of lads to a duathlon. Had some fun taking it through some driver training areas on the way.

started the day intending todo the rear wheel bearing. didnt happen couldnt shift the axle nut so thought id do my rear air bags instead. now working on the basis that everything takes twice as long as it should and something alwaya goes wrong i got started.

off side seem to go ok but had a leak with the air pipe had to cut 4mm off and reseat the air line all good goes up and down no probs so i start the near side takes me 10 mins happy days but while under the car the first air ba g lets go big style with a bang i mean big bang the top plate and air bag separate lucky for me i never work under a car without jack and axle stands.

i remove the new air bag reseat the top plate and try again
. sorted all good test the eas everythings good.

please people if your gonna work under your car get the axle stands in
place they saved me today.

i did say they let go with bang dave. :D the leverage you need is quite surprising !

And yes axle stands are always important, even if you slide under the car with the air suspension up high.

Changed auto box oil and filter and transfer box oil.
Changed serpentine belt and noisy idler pulley.
Freed seized rear screen washer motor.
Still a long list of jobs to catch up on but enough for this weekend.
:):)

it wasnt popping them out that made the bang i had already replaced the 1st air bag it decided to separate from the top plate whilst inflatted i mean completly blown apart had to remove it fix it and refit all over again no idea how or why it did it.

Should not be possible for that to happen if you put air in it BEFORE lowering car onto it. Bags MUST have air in before body is lowered or they can deflect and be pulled off when air is introduced.

No idea how it happened I didn't do anything different with the 2nd one and that all went OK I did make sure 2nd time around I filled it with air just to be sure. I'm thinking I pulled on the air bag to sit the bottom plate down and lock it in. Anyways all seems good mite do a refurb on the EAS block next

Greased propshafts and UJ's on both P38's checked tyre pressures and cleaned.

Called painter to see how the classic is getting along.

Cleaned it as its getting traded in a couple of days. Took the drivers door card off and re-attached the outside handle operating bar so they can open it without climbing in the passenger door. God, I'm gonna miss it!

Look out for the suspension reset and the Becm syncmate, rear rubber mat, roofbars and anything else I can plunder coming to a selling page near me!:)

Yesterday actually another years MOT 2 advisories n/s and o/s trackrod ends, only slight play, will do them before the next one.

Best way to do it is locate bag then give it a squirt with an airline to seat the mounts. Fitting the clips is easy then.
