Get it done, it won't be long before you won't have the time to do it.;):D
Stop being on her side!

Anyway, I would, but the money I had for tyres has just been earmarked for one of the dogs. Maddy got in a fight with a fox and lost, so now she is with the emergency vet. Poor lil girl.

Sorry to hear that, I hope the dog is OK.
Hopefully, was a deep wound on her left shoulder, the vet felt best to xray her so they can make sure everything is OK (I didn't want to go for the wait and see method), plus she needs a lot of jabs for rabies and what have you. I imagine she'll be on pain meds and antibiotics for a while. But I am sure she'll pull through, she is a tough lass.

Sounds nasty, is she a Border Collie? Vets are very expensive in the UK:mad:

She is a akita/collie mix. To be fair, if we got in with our normal vet it wouldn't be too bad, but being a bank holiday we had to go emergency. 180 quid just to look at her, then 500 for xray, plus whatever the drugs and dressings cost. That also assumes she doesn't need any surgery or keeping in overnight. Luckily we have insurance, but we have to pay out first then claim it back. She is worth every penny though.

Must have been a big dog fox to put up that fight against her.hope all turns out ok.

Good job I was sitting down when I read that. We used to use the Pet World place. They have their own vets at a much cheaper rate.

Maddy just wanted to play really. Unfortunately when the fox ran for shelter, she followed it. I imagine if she wanted to she'd have killed the fox.

There aren't a lot of out of hours vets round here. The vets near me all use the place we went to. Captive market I suppose.

I have always thought it's insurance that has allowed vets to inflate their prices. I hope she heals well.
Not many foxes around here as they are still hunted and very wary of people.
