Good point- it does start on the button, and plugs seemed okay when I had them out in Summer, air filter is also good.

You'd have to check the size, but for air cooling the Hyper 212 is still great.

Did a mod on the wipers on my classic. The problem was that I was having trouble getting replacement wiper blades here in France, my wiper arms being the flat type that just push into the blade mount. I decided that I would change to hook type arms, but couldn't find any with push on spline fixings to the wiper spindle, if that makes sense.
What I ended up doing was to buy the later (readily available) hook type arms with the bolt on fitting to the spindle, take the things apart and refit using my old mountings.
Photo's should make it clear what I did. Anyway, now ended up with arms that I can fit new blades onto, that I can buy from just about anywhere.
New arm removed and rough fitted into old housing.
Spot the difference.
Fixed with new rivet I had in stock.
Cleaned up, primed, and satin black. Just like new.

Drove from Salisbury to Builth Wells in Wales for weekend in the green lanes.
Water pump disintegrated at start point.
Waiting for AA to recover me back to Salisbury again.
3 hours drive and not even got the chance to drive a single lane.
Feeling a bit despondent.

Took it for the MOT, passed with not even a minor. "Bloody good condition for the year" according to the excellent MOT bloke. I is a happy bunny.

Well known failure point. Swapped mine to metal as soon as I got it. Datatek reckons the plastic has better flow but I have had no issues with the metal one.
