Started making a list of winter goodies, iv just got my roof rails n bars iv got a rhino rack sitting around somewhere, have a witter tow bar on order, a tow bar mounted spare wheel carrier I'm thinking about cos I have to leave the spare at home due to the huge dog cage in the back and some gg at3 tyres that mite go on

timing chains for the 5.0 are your concern
The 4.2 is near bombproof, valley pipe is a failure point but other than that, bombproof,
Thanks m8... where am I going to get up to any speed in London in a 5.0 anyway??

Nope!!
The TDV8's are not better.
The 4.2/4.4 Jag V8 is the best engine EVER put in the Range Rover.
Loads of power and bombproof..
Sounds good too..
Treat it right and good MPG is even achievable.

swapped brake light switch again, thats 3 in 5 yrs. no apparent reason that I can find

The switch is not open/close. it shows both open or both closed.Changed switch problem goes away

Think Marty said there was an issue with later models with Wabco D in the Nanocom where it showed this but wasn't really. Seems odd it fixes with a new switch.
Best place is Tescos in ashford/stanwell (and you can do some shopping while they do it, its in the car park on the left
