I never got round to that just use it without them, takes the weight but not ideal. No EAS makes (un)loading more difficult too

When one of my tail gate support cables broke i was surprised at the state of the bolts they were a bit crusty , soon sorted out with a bit of copper-slip and and nice stainless bolts

Fortunately i had a pair that came in a box of spares that i got very cheep

I cleaned mine up when I did the boot button rebuild several months ago. Gone cruddy looking already

I think my support straps are in the shed somewhere...sure they were in vehicle when I bought it

Aye cheaper than a hookers heart.

And surprisingly sturdy,

I managed to load an ATV in the back and the tailgate took most of the strain!

And it wasn't light!!

Another was an engine block that had to rest on there while i was repositioning a cherry picker!

Rubber sheath that protects the steel wire, is pant though!!

Came back from the weekend in Wales 800 miles, 27mpg, Pootling around the lanes and lots of fast on the motorway. Best car I've had
and only one spurious beep with no dash message. Just to keep me on my toes...

And two remarkable things:
I didn't see another P38 (and only three series landies)
and I didn't see any bad driving

Got the tyres dirty

Fitted a rear camera to mine after the missus hit something similar... And parking sensors front and back.

Why? my mate fitted parking sensors and his wife still managed to reverse into concrete bollards causing £2000 of repairs

Once remember a lady reversing into my Disco boy was she in tears when she saw what the tow bar had done to her Vauxhall. Yes I lost a tad more rust and carried on home
