Hell Grrrrrr. Feel for you, if I was closer I'd come and get you..

Cheers. 9.5 hours in the end. The guy who picked me up said he'd been idle since 1.30 that morning. So, they only actually drafted him in after I went somewhat ballistic down the phone at them at 7 am. Still, it is now sat in the road looking sorry for itself and I made it to work with a minute to spare. Guy dropped me off which was nice of him.

9.5 hours:eek: to get recovery that's disgraceful I hope they are going to make amends some how, who was this shower of sh1t, you could drive down from Manchester do the recovery and be back in that time:mad:

MrGorsky damn nearly came up from Chichester. Wish he had now but never mind. @brianp38dse : the AA! The 4th Emergency Service: we like to turn a mishap into a drama.

I wish I was up to be able to help. I could have towed you home if you had a bar/rope. I would really lay it on thick with the AA about how you missed work etc. Tell them you are leaving if they do not make a considerable gesture for the utterly unacceptable service you received. Middle of the night is not a busy time so they should have been able to deal with you well inside their advertised response times.

I always have a tow-rope in the boot. Don't leave home without it!

I did consider sending you a text but it was late and I didn't want to bother you. Plus, I thought the knights in yellow were going to put in an appearance at any minute. Every time I rang it was "they'll be there in the next 60 minutes". Hanging on, and on, and on, until I got angry.

Seems wrong to "like" a post like that but you know what I mean.
Shower of sh1te, should think there aught to be some beer tokens coming your way by way of a "sorry we cocked-up big time".

So my denso solenoid kit arrived so time to pull the starter and replace the burnt out contacts.
What a balls acke it is to pulling the starter but got it out in the end.
15 mins to swop out the old contacts in the solenoid gave the plunger a clean and put it back together.
Its just as big a ball acke putting the starter back in but got there in the end.

Have to admit with a doosel, I can almost climb in and sit on the chassis rail to work. :(:(
Looking in the V8's space, heaven help if I ever drop a spanner in there, just hope it falls out the bottom, or its lost forever.

Just an aside. The recovery driver I was speaking to yesterday said he'd had to pick up 6 Ejokes in the past week. All of them with deployed airbags. Seems the slightest jolt can set them off.

I "liked" this, however, hopefully they just went off for no reason and not because anyone got squished..
