What did you do with your Range Rover today

Mmm, Island 4x4 only list front props complete, £60 for ****part and £330 for OEM + vat. Time to get under and see if you need one. Many manufacturer's props are not designed to allow you to change just the joint these days.

I wouldn't get the sh!tpart one unless I was flogging it. Learnt the hard way: if it seals, moves, fastens or involves electrics then stay away from Sh!tpart.

IIRC correctly someone said (probably Wammers) to paint the top-left of the new air-con consenser. Or did I imagine that? Presumably some Hammerite would do the trick?

Fitted new seal kit to eas compressor. Must be one of the easiest jobs on a P38? New engine oil cooler pipes next. ( diesel ). Leak getting progressively worse.

If it is the top of the oil pipes near the engine, you can cut the compressed fitting, with a dremel. and use jubilee clips to secure. its stopped the leak on mine, took about 20 minutes.

I did nothing with my range rover, because i dont own one (sniff) however i do keep on scouring the net to see if theres one i can buy thats got fsh and not a million miles on it, i then look to see if i actually should buy one as its just for me to nip the little one over to play group and occasionally take stuff to the dump..... Ive never been one for boring cars, just unaffordable ones in general

Nothing, other than ordered the intank pump/sender. Should have it on the 13th, can finally get back to using the last 1/4 of a tank and get a functional fuel gauge.

There was one in Wales last week sold as U/S but I think it had just lost sync so you could have had it for £600 as a punt.

Im shopping for one in scotland, dinna fancy driving one the length if the country cause knowing my luck it would brake half way home ;b

Today I managed to do the following to my 99' P38

Replaced the oil in both diffs and the transfer box
New plugs and leads
New rocker cover gaskets as they were seeping oil all over the place
New oil and all filters

Was totally delighted when it had all gone back together and started straight up into a lovely smooth idle. Living in London, I figure I've just saved myself many hundreds of pounds by doing all of that myself which goes some way into kind of offsetting the V8.

Does anyone know why the engine internals look much cleaner/lighter coloured on one side than the other? weird light?!?

Rocker gear looks darker on the left side though, unusual not to just put originals back on new head? Maybe oil way is blocked a little on that side????

I fitted replacement heads to mine when doing the HGs quicker turn around time as I had the replacement heads skimmed n pressure tested I did initially refit the old rockers but replaced them recently to cure my tapping and a failed steel pad. I don't think op will ever find out why.

Final touches before first engine start... Then I find I've misplaced the oil sump plug. Bollocks!!!

Also started rebuilding the handbrake assembly. Oil inside and outside... outside caked in about 5mm of horrible thick oily sludge. New handbrake shoes and transferbox rear oil seal to go in.
