The police no longer refer to an "Accident" it is now classed as an "Incident" Because the term Accident implies that no-one is to blame, in the eyes of the law someone or something is always to blame,
It makes sense, if we all checked our vehicles regularly, drove according to the highway code with due care and attention without mind altering substances in our blood, its pretty difficult to have an "Accident".
 
Think if she was still here id have upset it. Just baught a vw passat 1.8 20v turbo on a s reg motd till end of july. Runs starts stops drives. for 200quid to run about in till insurance sorts out.
 
Waiting on some discs and pads coming through before doing the service proper on the P38, so just changed the MAF and air / cabin filters while I wait....

The Police just love to complicate things with silly new terminology. As far as I'm concerned, an accident is an unplanned event, attribution of blame is a separate issue.

Here here, I phoned in an accident that happened in front of me, I said RTA (well it was when I was in the Fire Brigade) and the controller tried to correct me saying it was a RTC. I told him to stop wasting time and get the emergency services rolling.:rolleyes:

Plod are only interested in fancy squad cars and meeting targets these days, crime appears to have dropped, but only because the feckers will not record crime they don't fancy dealing with:rolleyes:
 
Had a pretty successful afternoon,

Since I got the P38 only the drivers front and rear windows worked, I didn't want to try the sunroof, the passenger side front and back went down but didn't come back up unless you used lazy locking so me and my dad took the switch pack off, stripped it down and gave it a good hammering in switch cleaner.

Now all four windows and the sunroof work nicely.

Wish every job was as easy or as successful ;)
 
Has there been a bit of editing (censoring?) going on here?:suspicious:
I'm sure there was some stuff about unaffiliated bodies on here a couple of days ago ...:confused2:
 
Thanks Beasty. It wasn't a complaint really. I could see that it was in danger of becoming a bit 'inflammatory' (but I'd still quite like to see what more was said...;))
 
It's a relatively new battery. Installed it in January, bought the biggest one (the one everyone gets) from batterystore.

There must be someone/something new in the immediate area that's waking up the BECM because it's never been an issue before.

Gonna have to get it out and on charge though. May use the smaller, dinky one I have in the shed for solar stuff in the meantime.

What's the best way to access to the old one and remove it without causing all kinds of grief with the alarm etc?

If it's completely flat it won't matter. If there is a bit of life in it, check your manual but I usually slacked the earth terminal on the battery, switch on the ignition, turn it off and remove the earth strap within 17 seconds. You will have to reset windows/sunroof and recode the radio after changing the battery.:)

Oh dear, whip it off, charge it, then start looking for a drain. Start with the r/f receiver, check what model you have fitted. If it's not the later version you could pull the blue wire off the receiver and see if it helps. You would have to use your remote next to the o/s/r window for it to operate.
