i'll see if SDD can give me software versions. currently not seen anywhere to apply any updates, but downloading in the first place is likely the stumbling block

Yes i think that's likely. The diag recommends doing a vehicle factory reset.. reluctant to do it though as i don't know what it actually means
Disconnect battery wait 5 minutes then touch positive and negative cable on car together for few seconds simple, it will power down everything so everything restarts works in few cars nowadays had to do it not long ago on friends Mondeo when remote wouldn't talk to car after battery change.

If you remember short while ago got drivers side blower working . Today took of passenger side one and rebuilt a good un out of the bits and pieces. Wow never realised they could blow so much. Even re circulation flaps are working now. Air con a tad low on pressure so ordered new top up can and touch wood (please LR gods) everything should be working as it should :)

Off to see a land-rover Saturday 🤔..
On English plates so it may go for parts unless it's wanted for someone else to go through the bother of French plating it... It's a nightmare now over here and expensive to boot😵‍💫
If its cheap enough it has a lot of valuable parts in the EU.
Have to agree its a bit of a minefield since the B word.

came as a complete kit, took 3 attempts to even get it fitted right
That doesn't sound good. The Transit one went straight on no problem, it's been there a long time now, £280 for the solid kit, close to €1000 for the DMF kit over here so no contest.
Certain vehicles don't take to the vibration from the engine.
Our Volvo v50 has a solid conversation kit and rattles the crap out of the gearbox.. That's going back on a dual mass flywheel and clutch when the time is right 😵‍💫
5 cylinder?

A spare HEVAC? It was never cheap registering a car in France but with all the emissions crap it is now very expensive.
If you buy it to break, I might be interested in the rear bumper if it's the twin exhaust model :)
