Epb is used for the hillstart assistant?
A friend of mine had a Citroen Picasso, it had an EPB which was good as his wife was a terrible driver. It was automatic, 5 seconds after coming to a halt the EPB would activate. Pressing the accelerator caused it to release. As with most vehicle electronics, it was fine while it was working until the day his missus stopped at traffic lights in the centre of town and the brake refused to release.

Well that's the worst caliper 'done'.
Piston pressed out most of the way, cleaned, greased, pressed back. Not sticking now.

It's a land rover caliper!! Original? Worth just putting a new piston and seals in and keeping the body?

Perfectly possible since JLR brake lines rust out in as little a 5 years.
So now you want 2 brake lines to be rusted out (dual circuit) and a total electronic failure?

Come on Data. anybody reading this would thing Range rovers are unreliable 🤔

At the end of the day I guess its an owner maintenance issue if it ever got to that point.

New stuff is here and we cant stop it. There are 2 choices.

I remember in my previous life moving heavy wts up and down with a big 5ft crow bar brake handle, then it moved to the joystick.

What did the piston actually look like?

Dual circuit the brakes may be but when all the fluid departs from the broken pipe, the result is no brakes. Ask me how I know.

The other (rhs) piston wasn't sticking, but the lower side pin was stiff. Cleaned up and back together. Again, good till after MOT
Don't know about RR brakes but Powerhouse Automotive in chesterfield do top rate brake seal kits and pistons if needed for bikes. Used them for the Yamaha, the triumph and the Honda. Barely any extra cost over some eBay kits but streets ahead on quality.

Just dropped mine off at the garage for them to replace the corroded brake pipes, flush the fluid and re test mot. Fingers crossed it doesn’t develop another sulky issue. BTW. I wiggled the ABS sensor down a bit and the ABS and TCS lights behaved.

Went out and hunted down my first proper green lane. A very safe, non scratchy lane with a few large muddy puddles and a fairly damp/wet track. Good fun! The Mrs even enjoyed it!
