Found out the rain sensor doesn't work since new screen fitted 😩 is it easy enough to check if it's been plugged in? Or does the mirror need ungluing? Imagine you need special stuff to reattach

From what I've read seems like they've fitted a screen without a rain sensor so now i just have intermittent wipe only 🤔 buggers need to sort it out!! I'm too lazy to lift a finger when i can't see anymore 🤣

I thought the rain sensor was in the mirror assembly not got me laptop to check.
But yes if it did work and now it doesn’t it’s on them.

I to agree that lifting fingers is a bit of a chore.
Not sure I remember how to turn high beam on/off now;)
Only just remember to turn on the lights. Cos we have headlights on all time set as drl

A bit of googling and it seems the sensor is bonded to the screen, not part of the mirror as such.
My finger is withering away🫣
I don't have lights set to auto as they are HID which don't like to be switched on and off eg in tunnels

Interesting about the rain sensor. Be good to know, will check my files (if I remember when I get ome)
Our lights are on all the time, law. So auto is only for high/dip.
But because of that we quite often drive off without actually switching the lights on. It’s only when one wants to change a heated seat or AC setting that you notice there are no lights on cabin switches ;) .

I'm surprised that twiddling your knob doesn't elicit sounds from your wife:cool:

Had a butchers. The plastic surround just unclips. Rain sensor unit also unclips, just the holder that's bonded to the screen, though the sensor seems to be glued in as well.. maybe the glue is interfering with the sensor!?
No error codes

Fixed a previous bodge with a slightly better one

Thought the wet patch on the drive was a/c condensation. Got off my arse when I noticed coolant had dropped and here's the culprit.

Yeah nice one 👌🏻

Its the U shaped hose comes off the bottom of expansion tank. Guessing it wore thru and got fantastically bodged.

Quick Google and call to LR revealed it only comes as part of that larger assembly circled. £450 from LR and about £250 from European parts suppliers. **** that ses I...

Pirtek Wolverhampton, length of 19mmID hose, a coupling and few jubilee clips for 13 quid.

So thats the idea. Same as the last bodge really just a bit more disassembly and care taken...

Bled system as per workshop manual for expansion tank removal and refitting, heres the join with engine running

I supported the longer length with a couple of cable ties to keep the join square, one of those things I'll check neurotically for the next few weeks 😅

These came in very handy, I wouldn't have been able to get to the hose clamp at the front of the engine without them. I did break them but lashed that bolt together with a hole drilled thru it to clamp the wire. These were 12 quid from amazon, sealy do their own about 25 quid I think, be worth a look.

think i figured out why the rain sensor isnt working.. at least, i'll make a wager they didnt clean the old gel off and use new.. bet they just stuck the sensor in place and hoped for the best with the remaining old gel

Took mine to a local indy to get a labour quote.

Fit new rear prop and carry out gearbox service inc mechatronic seals and check/adjust rear brakes..?

£250. I think that's pretty good so booked in for end of July, they're busy!

Just need to fork out for genuine prop from advanced factors and seen this on ebay

@Henry_b good value?
