What did you do with your Range Rover today

Took him to the cafe for lunch and then to Altrincham for successful retail therapy after, having spend the morning rearranging large chunks of the garage preparing to bring my Guzzi back under the roof at last, while SWMBO reorganised the conservatory and shed. Lovely smooth wafting on all roads, with a few bootfuls of roar when needed. Really nice driving again.

As a treat for it passing its mot i took it for a run down to Basingstoke and back to get my son some equipment for his Duke of Edinburgh trip, that blow some cobwebs out

Had a ride out to toolstation in Sleaford pick up couple led lights ( lincoln branch had two goes and broke them both times) filled up while there diesel £154.9 a liter against £168.9 in lincoln made it worth while

only took 78 liters.

Today i have just arrived back from a 10 break and took my Disco 3 to Morton Island for a bit of 4 wheel driving. last year i went to Fraser island which is now called K'gari but stiil the largest sand island in the world.Morton Island is very similar excaept not so large.The Sand was soft in places but not to extreme and 4 days saw us complete most of the tracks i havnt taken any videos but some can be seen on u tube

Filled up with diesel last night, 141.9p. just checked it's still 162.9 at the supermarket

Just work out i have done under 1k miles in it over the last 2 years

note to self must use it more, but with mister Kahn`s ulez that mileage will probably drop

mind you at under £500 a year for mot, tax and insurance it is a very handy second motor

Noticed that myself, always shop around for parts, sounds sad but I make a spreadsheet, detail seller, part, p&p, and any extras like recently did rear brakes and one was cheaper but £15 extra for fitting kit, springs, clips etc, other looked initially dearer but included fittings and worked out cheaper.
Only used powerful once years back for a genuine replacement gear knob on my freelander 2, otherwise they seem to think of a price and treble it. LR parts seem ok for bits like oil seals etc but pricey on service parts, brakes etc, I do tend to use Island 4x4, generally quite reasonable even for genuine LR, also seem to keep good stock levels.

It’s best when your running to about a 1/4 or less and stood there filling up watching everyone else drive in, fill,pay, leave and your still stood there watching litres crawl up and cost fly up , or when at a pay at pump and hit its money cut off before you’ve filled tank.

Woo!! Managed to reach 30mpg after an hour's run on the motorway from the 4.4 tdv8 while staying in the 65-70 mph range
So much for '35 on a run'

Is that on the "lie O meter" or brim to brim? You believe any manufactures numbers

We can get that on a long run at some higher speeds

but a lot longer run, The SDV8 in the 405(same engine) managed a huge improvement somehow.

But at the end of the day for moving a 2t brick about its pretty good

Going over to wales and back hovering around 55-60 I had an indicated 32mpg on the Td6, this dropped to around 24 around wales, brimmed tank there and also when back home and the computer wasn’t far out, only 1or 2 mpg optimistic.

Spot on. My uncle volunteered for years until his health stopped him. Absolute steam fanatic. It is like an extended family down there. When I was a kid it was just a big yard and you could wander around the sidings looking at the locomotives. Alll a bit more ordered now. The transport museum was very well done some time ago.

3 mpg higher on the way back, same journey! But i guess car was warm to start with

Noticed the transport museum round the corner, said to other half we’ll have to go as I’m quite into stuff like that, only recently found out bury had a transport Museum. Definitely could see it’s like a big family they way they are with each other, best way to be, think it works well if everyone there is there because they want to be unlike a job you may do just for bill paying. It does look addictive, can’t beat steam though, I’m 33 but can’t stand modern trains whenever iv used them delays, break downs, snow etc, didn’t seem a issue back with steam, the whole things are like living breathing machines unlike electric.

Edit: No scratch that its the tranny cooler and no electrical connection.
