Its an 06 supercharged 129k on it now,

Trailers twisted axles bent but its like 20year old single axle 5ftx8ft itl just get chopped up and scrapped and replaced

Today i replaced the rear pads n disks ,,they were new march 2020 ,delph from island 4x4,the pads were still like new ,and one disk was ok ,but the drivers side was rusted beyond belief no braking surface on the inside  , but to be fair 3 years for half the price i just paid to replace them with:( ,I wonder if those mud shields protect more than i though ,cause mines all gone now ...:D

Yes, but stick P38 parts on it and it'll start to break.

Thought it was your most reliable car? It certainly looked OK last time I saw it.

Is the Golf fixed after the chunting incident?

Well it's been left and neglected for a year, and started it up last week, and the battery was good still, fired up on the 3 try, the one in the accident was my wife's Chevrolet Matiz, they scraped it, could have been easily sorted out, but they like to throw stuff away, I got more that I paid for it 7 years ago, so it went OK, we're using the VW Golf now, but I don't like it, had too many gadgets on it, that's why I am fixing the series II up, I want to drive that, and it looks a damn sight cooler... lol

Was the surface rusted because it wasn't contacted by the pad? o_O

If it's not worn on the Inside it could be a seized piston? Single piston on the rear and on the Inside!
If the piston is on the inside and it's the inside surface that is rusted, I'm not sure how a seized piston would allow pressure to be applied via the slide pins to the outside? Maybe the whole assembly has seized, piston and slide pins?

Na every thing is well lubed ..the disk had shiny bits where the pad was touching , rubbing but part of the braking surface had disintegrated, but only on inside. the piston side ,I felt it like a warped disk week or two ago and though like you"s sticking slider ,had a look under wi a torch ... cant tell what i said  when i see it ,gutted ,but went out today and its ever so smooth wi the new stuff on,..I serviced all 4 ,the front was fine,,,But a strange thing was ,the disks that came off ,wouldn't fit in the new ones boxes ,the old ones were thicker:eek: my new ones are apec, ,im a happy bunny for now..:D thanks for the input :D:D

Took the cover off and the dehumidifier out. He fired up first turn and didn't need any throttle to avoid the initial cold stall that he has usually done. Drove him about 35-40 miles to sort stuff at the BILs get some shopping and a takeaway, and fill him up ready for the freezing weather. Was showing 1/4 or just below but only took a bit under 67l. So the fuel gauge continues pessimistic, which is preferable to the reverse! Works out as 16.7mpg, which considering it covers the time he was our only working car. so some short trips, quite a bit of slow rush hour traffic and a slog over the steep hills to Yorkshire and very little steady cruising is quite decent I think. Still floats and wafts nicely on the new bags and a delight to drive.

So now for the fight of whatever happens to my motor,
I want mine, i want it fixed but as childish as it might sound but If it gets categorised i dont want it i didnt buy a categorised motor,
My Fusion has been written off 3 times now - keeping it til it dies so doesn't bother me. Cat D crash damage about a year earlier when I got it, had opposite 1/4s shoved by idiots since and Cat N'd both times. Had nearly half what I paid for it 80k and 12 years ago now in payouts.

My height selector rocker switch only seems to make the car go up, not down. Not a massive issue as it still changes height with speed but I like things to work soanother thing to add to the list of niggles to fix. Too busy this weekend so it'll have to wait.
