What did you do with your Range Rover today

dubbleRR - yes the tailgate is open as the latch is playing up and did not want it shut locked, I will look into why its not opening reliably.
Drivers Door was open when doing the procedure!, thanks for the tip.
I am slowly getting the hang of these complex beasts.
My old D1 V8 is a lot easier to work on.
Thanks for the help

Ian

Lower tailgate latches gum up, actuator needs attention or boot switch itself plays up. A little attention is all it needs normally
Cheers, going to look at the mech today, feel like I am making backward steps but being the Range Rover was in a garden for 3 years its understandable.
You know I am still positive - the engine sounds great!!

My Range Rover I am working on
P38 Pics 001.JPG

My P38 needed a new battery, bought one today, changed the battery and its now on the bump stops and now will not respond to lifting, switch not flashing, compressor working.
Tried the free disc and cable EAS unlock and its made the situation worse.
Try again tomorrow!
Onward
Compressor working does not mean it's making pressure, however it does mean there is not a hard fault in the EAS.
Difficult to see how EAS unlock could make it worse

The EAS is locked with a door or the tailgate open.

Correct, but a very brief contact is OK.
I check continuity across the door ajar switch, key switch, and just locking the door. All weree fine. Which is consistent with all of the looms being fine. The outstation I switched between passenger door so I know that is good. All of this also fails to explain why the window doesn't go up and down either. But I am now leaning towards BeCM fault.

The remote locking, mirror and window don't work on my mates 2001 diesel either. We tried outstation swop and also the latch tests, all good but no difference, nowt works. We have power at the purple? Wire at the outstation too.
We can only randomly fiddle with it because of other commitments on his time but we did checks on voltage etc readings at the passenger door connectors, which works fine, and compared to the readings at the dead drivers door. Only one cable differed, yellow with red trace iirc, power at passenger door non at the drivers. Think we found the other end of this cable at the becm and that has no continuancy through to the door. That's as far as we got over a month.
I fixed his sunroof switch pack switch though, I'm getting good at that.:D

Similar to my issues then.
The yellow wires were all speaker related. Purple going into the door (purple/blue and purple/black) are power to outstation and power to windows. I forgot to test it, but I think if the drivers door is unlocked the boot will be unlocked too, even if the central locking is locked as the ground for the boot switches through the drivers lock. Is raining now so don't want to put the battery back on to test it. But that all suggests the door ciruits and switches are fine. I've got to see if I can find the change to have Tuners test my BeCM. Paddock no longer accept returns on the door latches without inspection because there is a common BeCM fault, so I assume this may be that issue. I emailed to see of they could give me details of the fault that lead to this policy but they haven't got back to me yet.

Had a clear out in the garage yesterday and found these two. Oil filters for my old DSE that were ordered wrong,(something to do with filter casings or something, I learnt over the years..) Anybody want them, I'll Chuck 'em in the post for nothing. Just gathering dust and no good to me.
But check both numbers first to make sure they are WHAT FITS YOURS..
Cheers
