I thought it was clear we were talking in equivalent MPG from the start. You can work it out as pence per mile or for a more general understanding convert to MPG as most folks find this easier to relate to for comparison... well i say most folks.....never mind wammers
Changed the oil in diff's to this:LUCAS SYNTHETIC SAE 75W90 GEAR OIL TRANSMISSION | eBay
1st drive went very well, peace & silence, not that there was a problem with old stuff but it had done over a 1000 miles

No you said you were getting X MPG on gas, a positive statement. That was not correct. You are getting LESS MPG on gas but paying LESS to do it.
Wammers, i do beleive i said MPG equivalent but if you want to be anal & pedantic then then you go right ahead fella.
My P38 always seems to attract interest & i'm usually met with the question 'i bet that drinks fuel' to which if i reply 'well actually on a good run it can cost as little as 18p a mile' would usually result in a blank expression. Now if i say, 'well actually with the LPG, on a good run it gives the equivalent of around 32mpg' ....that's something most folk relate to.
My P38 always seems to attract interest & i'm usually met with the question 'i bet that drinks fuel' to which if i reply 'well actually on a good run it can cost as little as 18p a mile' would usually result in a blank expression. Did a filter and ATF change on GB & TB using this:Lucas Oil Products (UK) - Heavy Duty & High Performance Lubricants
Maybe didn't really need it but changes are unbelievably smooth now, like the Lucas stuff despite being from over there

Fixed the passenger side heated front seat. Not that hard to do just a bit time consuming. The thermostat was broke on mine all the wiring was fine. Works a treat now. Wished I'd done the drivers side now but wanted to make sure I could get somewhere if it all went "Pete Tong" and I needed some other bits/tools. Perhaps next weekend!!

...but running costs are mostly due to depreciation..........by the time they get to this age.....its no more than running a super-mini......

If the cost of fuel concerns you, Range Rovers aren't for you. Stick to the Smart Car.
See that little gauge in the left of the instrument cluster? When it gets near the red bit, I'll put some motion potion in and pay the nice lady. Who cares how much they cost to run? That isn't the point, it is what they can do for you.

I run my Range Rover on LPG for environmental reasons not economic ones...

Yeah i know he is a real star. If i run my car on old chip oil at 45p a litre i can get the equivalent of 90 MPG on a good run. Or around 2.27 pence per mile. Up yours.

How do they go on cooking oil? Do you get fuel pump problems or anything?

Yeah you is green man. And if you get 28 MPG on a good run it gives you the equivalent of 42.28 MPG or 9.6 pence per mile. In gas guzzler parlance at least.
