What can I get for £14k?

I've seen prices of later Td5's now overtaking TDCI Defenders as longs as they are clean, I buy Defenders on condition rather than a specific year.
I find the Puma interior even more cramped, looks better though. The 6 speed ZF gear box, whilst being nicer to use than a R380, it's becoming apparent that they are not as strong as the R380 box and it seems that they are not worth rebuilding.

As for being investments, I'm not sure, I bought mine last year for £15,000, and am now into it for £31,000, my choice, there was nothing wrong with it, just its primary job is to go to Morocco and back without falling to pieces.

Nice one in the Ebay advert, but I'd prefer a late model TD5. You could get a really good one for £14,000, and they seem to be holding their value better than some of the TDCis .

I am not surprised, I have had a drive of the LR experience TDCi (works do), not a pleasant engine and not that much character. Got into my Discovery afterwards and it is a world of difference.

If I wanted a 4 cylinder with character there is an engine called a TDI300, and they are reliable and torquey, if you want a Land Rover with get up and go, a good exhaust note and also smoother there is the TD5. They are also still pretty torquey.

In Defenders as opposed to 110 and 90 I would go TD5 everytime.
