Long story short, failed MOT. Need to replace almost all pipes and hoses.First problem I encountered was rounded off, seized bleed nipple on osf caliper. I'm going to try and remove it but if it snaps and I need to replace caliper, what brand do you guys suggest?
The ones on it are made by Lucas. I've looked on Ebay and there's a fair few different brands. Any ones I should avoid? Recommendations?
Also, is it good practice to replace both calipers or is it ok to have new and old working together?
Cheers, Pete

A bit of heat, then tighten it very slightly before undoing it. Better done with a socket rather than a spanner.

It's in a bad state. Tried a few sockets, nothing fitting it. I have replacement nipple, just need to get this bugger out. Will try some heat on it like you say. Cheers.

An easy out will shift it. But before you spend ages messing with it, check the piston is free. It's not uncommon for them to seize, in which case just replace the caliper.
I've used a few cheap makes, all seem fine, definitely better than a seized one.

I managed to get the bleed nipple out. I read some of the threads on here and got a few tips. I removed the caliper. Lightly hammered a drill bit into the bleed nipple to stop it from crushing. Clamped the nipple tight in a vice. Soaked it again in WD40 and gently worked the caliper back and forth. Still no joy. Felt like the nipple would snap or get crushed in the vice. Had a little gas camping stove handy so fired that up and held the flame as close as I could get it to the nipple for about 5 mins and then squirted WD40 on it again. Worked the caliper back and forth again, still no luck. Repeated the heat and WD40 and started working the caliper again and then bam, I heard and felt it snap free.
So I would like to thank the guys who shared their tips in other threads. You've saved me about 65 quid. Cheers.
I was going to try clamping the caliper in the vice and work on the nipple until I read the tip to clamp the actual nipple in the vice. Simple but pure genius. Of course it gave me so much more leverage that way. Not sure I would have thought to try that..
