what are the biggest tyres i can fit on a standard series 3 wheel??

i have 265/75/16 BF goodrich AT's on my 90, but i need big time tread agression for off roading. could i fit 265 mud terrains on it?? I was thinking about ex-mod tyres??

from my own experience i've found that width wise 265's stick out too far from under the wings and they rubbed on the leaves as well. 235 75 r16's are a good size and havent caused me any grief yet! but i never got stuck with the regular landy size 205 65 r16's hankook muds either.
