Tell you what I've being messing with engine's since i was about 14, and tell you what my V8 easy to work on until!!!!! I tightened the head back down torque it all up and went to do stage 2 on bolt 1 and guess what happened next?
You guessed it it striped the thread (I wouldn't have any luck if it wasn't bad luck). Now I have no choice but to drill and helicoil it probably in the rain like the rest of the job. The worst thing is that I had essentially done the job as it was the other side head-gasket that had split and was only doing this side as good measure.
Don't you just love it. Now the wife giving me grief as it's the family car and I've not put my Manta through a MOT, so we don't have anything.
