Hi all,
P38 4.6 HSE. I had the usual coolant leak from the heater matrix and I replaced the O-rings. Now the floor gets wet all the same, but it isn't antifreeze. This is rainwater from outside, and it drips out of the vents under the dash.
Could the windscreen be leaking? Or is it more likely a blocked drain in the heater? I'd be grateful if someone has a couple of tips for me.

Cheers!
Henrik

If it's rainwater and is coming from the vent ducts below the dash, then try checking the fit of the pollen filter covers, they can allow rainwater in. I've read that they can fit so bad some people have cured it by applying sealer. Most probably though it's air conditioning condensation building up due to blocked air con drains. Get under the car and look up at the transmission tunnel sides just by the bellhousing. On each side at the top you'll see a 1.5cm round dome with a cross on it, these are the aircon drains. Give them a squeze as the cross gets stuck together preventing the water from draining. You'll most probably get wet! Have a search here for air con drain, loads of stuff on them.

get underneath, slide your hand around the bellhousing and find the a/c drains, there are two.open them with your finger and clear them.be prepared to have water run down your arm.this should cure your prblem
