will check out the seals by pollen filters first, as i have just changed them
but one was missing

also easier to get at than the back of the hevac

only had the motor a month, so the towel was a bit of a shock
previous owner obviuosly did it and hoofed it

now time to load up Rave

Started on the o rings this avo, been laid up with a bad back so has taken some time to start the project

What a pain to get at have strippe dhalf the centre console and other bits, can now see the pipes and def have a leak there

getting to them to change it will be a challenge, back to the workshop in the morning me thinks

$hrs would be good going i reckon

If you have read the bit on rangerovers.net, when you do it drill a big hole in the side of the centre console as it helps alot, it is then covered up with the outer console trim.

tea/****ing around and one small hole you will never see 2 hours

had read the rangerovers .net bit ut it was some days ago

but unfortunatly had no internet in the workshop and couldnt remeber all of it
RAVE was not a lot of help

def gonna drill a big hole tomorrow, unsure on where to drill the small hole.

the heating/vent duct seems to run right across the pipes, cant seem to free it. May take the instrument cluster out, to see if i could see the top end of it.

Got a air con belt to fit and a transfer box rear output shaft to do after this
Busy learning the joys of owning a P38....!!

vent duct will prise out in vicinity of pipes, take off the centre console panels-unscrew and pull edge free from cubby box and if you run hand from radio to bend. Sharp tap with fist and it releases.
When you have radio and ac controls out the way feel bracket on pipes and the black plastic needs a hole to but screw driver through.

As a watch point, new seals will be smaller than originals(o ring v rubber band), bracket on pipes must screw up evenly and tabs will go over instead of standoffs-failure to do this it will leak.

got the ac control n radio out n side panels off

and the glove box ( mis read rangerover.net:frusty

also took off the panel with the hazards and air suspension contols, some metal bracket

was resigned to taking the dash off but gonna drill some holes me thinks

not sure waht you mean by standoffs but guess i will work it out when i am in the motor tomorrow

I found some for mine but everytime she stood up they fell out, going to fix her heater box nect

Had resigned myself to a dash out procedure

then the girlfriend's dad finished his disco repairs and gave a hand
Farmer engineering truimphed, vent pipe was treated a bit more agressivly and we could see the screw, we accesse it from the front with the vent and inner dash / consoled bent well to towards the drivers side

Incidentally, we pulled the clevis pin out of the clutch pedal getting that on the floor, which meant you could put your head down there which gave a better view

all done, took longer to put all the rest back that i took out

took a picture of all the bits i removed, what a lot of effort for a very small part

guess they were originals as they were a wider flat shape than the o rings

now the transfer box oil seal and air con belt is next sundays project, unless i get bored in the week
