I picked up my "bargain" rangie yesterday and drove it home. What an experience and learning curve. So far that i know of it needs new suspension rubbers, new inner wing and is leaking oil from the bottom of the engine so poss a new sump gasket, hopefully it's just that and not the main crankshaft oil seal. But the oil does come out quite fast, doh!
Oh yeah and drivers window regulator, a patch on the passenger floor. Other than that it's fine and i love it already so it looks like i'm gonna be busy getting it ready for an mot.

Check the timing cover where it meets the sump, this is normally sealed by mastic. I replaced the timing gear, etc on mine once, replaced the timing cover, sealed it at the join as specified and the oil just gushed out, new gasket and tried again, same problem. Evebtually purchased an genuine gasket from LR and it sealed first time. Now I only use genuine gaskets. Could also be leaking out of the back of the valley gasket. Try and give it a good degrease unless you can see where it's pouring from.

cheers guys, pm sent to blackvogue, and i'll be checking the seals at the weekend but on replacement i'll def use genuine, cheers for the heads up jdennington.
