fuel filter
viscous coupling
VC Bearings
diff nose seal

diff oil change
gearbox oil change
courtesy car hire/fuel

Tyres will have to wait now!!

I only had it a day and booked it in for waxoyl and clean and said to my garage let me know what else you find!
brought it for £3200, 2003 Td4 73k on clock

hows it a couresy car if you have to pay a hire charge:confused:
surely it's just an overpriced hire car:rolleyes:

I'm guessing here, but the £1200 covered the cost of a courtesy car, while the freelander that he bought for £3200, was being worked on.

sounds like a good price actually

some people are charging that alone for a waxoyl!!!

and all that oiland filter stuff is important...diffs, gearboxes and fuel pumps are pricey!

You could have done it yourself for less than £600 but if you don't mind paying someone £600 to do it for you then its a good deal.

My experience is that Land Rovers are one of the cheapest vehicles to maintain if you DIY. The dearest bit is the coupling at about £350 the rest is arse pocket money and a fair bit of crawling around on the floor.

You will be lucky if there's £40s worth of Waxoyl on her and 1/2 hour with a spray ! £1200, gosh I'm in the wrong business ;-)

my fault really-I didn't want pattern / copies..I guess you pay for it...cheaper than dealer quoted by a long way thkigh' !! robbing truckers!

I have been in the motor engineering business for 35 years and done land rovers for 14 years, You'll probably find that these bits are Britpart who supply most of the the OEM stuff, you can always ask before buying or get direct from Britpart at these prices. OEM only means who gives the dealer the best price, Land Rover don't make anything now, emperors clothes and all that and certainly the private garages will go for the cheaper NON Britpart bits that the motor factors often get, at least if you do it yourself you know what you have fitted, of course dependent on an individuals ability. Still, water under the bridge now.
