right dont tell any one else

i turned the outer brass ring and removed the glass, take out the two screws at the back of the housing case then drop the face and mechanism out in to your hand ,

looking at the back of the clock thers the drum that has the nubers on, get a match stick and carefully turn them to zero on the face then buld back up the clock units makin sure to get the thin rubber seal in the glass rebate or it will fog up

Dont bother tryin the old electric drill in reverse trick as its bollocks

That almost hasa brushed aluminium look to it in that pic Very nice. I wonder on a sunny day weather it will create the occasional blindness hehe

its a bit too shiny i must admit, might give it a spray of mat clear coat see if it dulls it bit,

looks like it should as new, very impressive, love the clocks

sand blasted the back axle parts today till got called out fer work , just got to spray with red oxide then hammerite

not many pics today as wer busy but yer get the idea



more pics tomorrow if not busy again

right, the above axle parts have all been sand blasted now and painted ready for building back up, am off out tomorrow to get a load of shiny new bits then its going back together as iv done nothing to it fer weeks, pics to come tomorrow

What size air compressor do you use for your sand blasting?

i have a 3 hp, v block pump that fills a 250 ltr tank thats plumbed up to another 150 ltr tank, more than enough,

i/v happily sand blasted with a 50 ltr tank and wold compressor but you have to wait every two mins fer the air to build up, if yer in no rush its ok ,

right well a few pics of todays performance

after cleaning up and spraying everythin was ready to assemble

just the diff to sort out then i might start stripping the bulkhead

lots of ickle blue boxes there, don't tell me you've gone and used B......t bits ?

just the brake cylinder , i run some britpart cylinders fer 8+k and they wer sound, lookin at the castings etc they are as good as any others of the same price range, i stripped one ( new and old) the seals wer as good as new and looked quite well made, lets face it they are most likly made somewhere else under another name if it fails its only a hours work max to swap them

well if yer thort i wer having a day off yer wrong : )

i finished the axle, halfshafts in and caps on





then i set about ripping the doors to bits











hmmm, better call in and pick some door section up tomorrow from craddocks

in the pictures of the hub back there, what is the purpose of that silver slot head screw, by the wheel studs, and should I be worried that mine doesn't have it? Nice work by the way.

tis the brake drum retainer - 90s just put it there so it don't go missing (i'd guess)
