Went out on Sunday laning, checked the oil level before i left and topped it up to just below the H mark, on the dip stick. been out today doing a few bits and pieces in the back of the 90.

Decided to check the oil levels etc as was supposed to be going out tomorrow to recover a mate bogged down disco That they had to abandon. when they killed it in a bombhole.

and noticed a pool of oil under the airfilter housing. Took pipe to filter off and placed finger over the breather pipe and watched the oil pour out of the dipstick. not a splattering that you'd get if the rings were worn. But a full pour not gushing just a steady trickle. and oil level was back down to just below the L mark.

So that it for me no more landrover.. No money to fix it, no work, and no more work lined up. no alternative transport, and to be honest I haven't got the motivation to get it fixed.

So it's going. not sure where yet but I've had enough..:(

thats typical td's for ya. they're not the best despite however much cash you throw at them. my mate has had 5 in his 90. dont know why he carried on replacing them with the same thing but hey its not me!
Where was the oil coming from again?

Out the breather pipe and into the air filter. fooking things dripping in it.

Had some good advice and we've Sorted a quick fix for now. Going to feed the breatherpipe into a plastic container. and when it gets too full I'll just pour it back into the engine. :D

Can you not take the pipe from the breather and tap it back into the top of the oil filler cap?
