what should i disconnect when welding? what ECU's? and also the battery anything else?

Not sure about the P38, on other stuff just disconnecting the battery seems to be sufficient.

Battery of course, other than that, everything important 'should' be sheilded from the effects of Mig.. but I would definately be removing or at least unplugging the sensitive BeCM.. it doesn't need any excuse to lose sync with the engine control unit!

When I was putting a winch on my p38, I asked the same question on rangerovers.net.
I have had a previous bad experience when I spiked an engine ECU destroying it.
The official L/R advice is to disconnect ALL the ECUs.
This seems over the top to me. I would have thought disconnecting the battery, engine ECU and BECM would be enough.

I always isolate the alternator as well.
