Yes, you need to get the right one. If you want to fix it on the cheap then maybe get a used one but beware you don't get sold the wrong year or one that is as bad as yours.Probably just going to change the whole shaft, are they different lengths ns to os?
If you can get the lower ball joint out without doing any harm then that's your best option. I usually end up removing the mounting bolts for the wishbone and leave hanging from the ball joint but sitting on a box. Then take out the two big bolts that hold the hub to the strut and one end of the drop link. This gives you just enough room to swing the hub out and slide out the wheel end of the drive shaft. Then it's just a matter of popping out the gearbox end with a big screwdriver/lever.
You'll also need a dirty great big breaker bar and 32mm socket to get the hub nut off.
