Freelander 1 weird action of the Td4 Freelander

My wife drove with the Freelander today. All driving normally etc.
She went to park the car and it just went off like she turned the key, except she didn't turn the key.
She tried to turn the ignition on and off; all lights came on on the dash like normal. Started the car and it turned straight off again.

She left it for while and now it is starting and driving again.
Didn't do the codes yet but I will a.s.a.p

Anyone knows what this can be? Will check the battery terminals tomorrow.

check them first then check the ignition switch

Did it cut out when put in reverse to park it or just when coming to a stop / moving normally?

Moving normally, she didn't reverse in.
