L322 Weekend Trip Away with pics

Some threads are depressing nowadays so I thought id post a more cheerful one about the L322

Went on a 400 mile round trip in the V8 with the gf at the weekend, up to the North West of Scotland, Stayed at UIlapool then did a day trip to Lochinver. I don't take photos often when I go on trips or holidays but I couldn't get over how nice the scenery is.

Gotta love the note of the V8!! the ride was fantastic and smooth and there's plenty overtaking power available to use at the press of the foot. It never missed a beat, truly amazing to drive and is sooooo comfortable!

Nice pictures, did you wash the L322 for every picture, it kept clean for a dark colour and still looked nice.

Awesome.....now it is time to get it muddy...

We are currently on hols in the IoW and we always try and find the most (legal) off road route to places we can.....

No no no no no!!! I took the RR shooting for the first time as the Disco failed its test and going through the field getting it muddy broke my heart!! haha when I was underneath doing the service when I first got it there was not a spec of mud underneath it was brilliantly clean and gleaming and im thinking of keeping it that way lol, I use "the bucket" (disco) for the muddy days.......although I do have a set of 19's RR sport alloys and tyres (think they're the same as yours) I don't think the 22's cut it off road

We got a few hours of rain every now and then over the weekend, we got the odd few hours or so dry spells. we we're actually going to go camping but the good old iphone weather app said it was wet all weekend so we went b&b

Well done, brave but well done, I have a 90 for off road, like Disco2RS4 I don't think I could use a Range Rover for off road when it's as clean and shiny as it is, and the risk of damage and breaking something.

We have a Ninety that like to get muddy too......but whats the point in owning a Land Rover product, be it a Range Rover, Disco, Free(gay)lander, Series or Defender (plus the earlier incarnations of Ninety and One Ten) if you ain't gonna get them a little muddy?

When the L322 is washed she does look grand, so I do feel a little guilty when we get her muddy, but at the end of the day she is one of the most capable production off road vehicles in the world....so why waste it?

If things get broken, unbolt and replace, only thing I shy away from is anywhere there is a possibility of panel damage, and as I only have road tyres, it is not aggressive Green Lanes we travel just rutted tracks and mild muddy bits.

She has a few hedge rashes down the sides, but nothing that won't polish out with some hard work......like the wife....enjoy her and every now and then polish her up and treat her to something new....

Always check with the local councils Rights of Way maps, Check their site for road/track closures, if possible contact the local GLASS Rights of Way Officer, Travel in a group (we don't but we don't do aggressive routes and as we are over here with my parents we let them know which lanes we will be travelling on and where we are heading with rough times etc.) We ensure our mobile phones are fully charged every morning and carry a charger just in case. We print off the maps showing the legal Byways Open to All traffic in case we come across some angry ramblers/horse riders/cyclists (never have yet), carry the iPad with GPS to check the routes and satellite images. Walk the tricky parts and spot the parts that will require deft handling.

You bought the Range Rover for a reason, I just hope it is one for fun and frolics, not sticking it up the neighbours noses!!!

did you pop into the Aultguish Inn by any chance on your way up to Ullapool? It sits right under the Loch Galscarnoch dam. Used to be my aunts and have spent many a wet and windy day there romping over the mountains. There is also a 3 ft long pike there. bought it once but it got the hook and then came back into the shallows to challenge me!!

All very true, it all can be fixed and by being carefull and knowing what your doing.

I don't have a Range Rover yet but I am looking now for one, I have a defender 90 as a toy and my other half has a discovery td5 as a day to day work horse.
