weard smell coming out the vents and a oil leak prob.

its like a plastic rubber smell thats coming out when the heat is on. not burning tho. just a odd smell does anyone know what it could be? also any one have a problem with gear oil leaking from the axle. i thought it was from the ABS sencer but its not its coming from the flange ware the five bolts are and i dont quite know how to dissasemble it any help would be great,or a free tech manual
