Hi All.
I have a 2010 110 Utility Wagon and it's starting to show signs of surface rust underneath.

I used some waxoyl last year and was about to do it myself again this year but have discovered two, more 'permanent' options:

Rust Bullet
POR-15

I just wondered if anyone has any experience / advice / tips on using any of the above 2 products instead????

I think a few members would recommend dinitrol. Not had experience with it myself but quite a few threads on it.
 
I waxoild our 101 before parking it up on a SORN.

Ive not been too impressed with the waxoil, to be honest.

What i mean is that, even on a vehical that has not moved, the coating is incomplete.

Ive also used this -

Machine mart sells (or used to sell) it. More durable, and dead easy to apply.

May, although i dont know, suffer from water getting underneath it where it does get holed. Someone else may be able to comment further?
 
Don't bother with Waxoil, it's crap. Use Bilt Hamber underbody waxes (dynax S-50 and UBS etc.) or Dinitrol as almost as good.
I've heard that rust bullet isn't all it's cracked up to be and also heard that although POR15 is supposed to be quite good, the coating can fail easily if you don't apply it absolutely to the letter of the instructions.

Personally I'm more inclined towards treating the rust with fertan, then a bilt hamber wax, or ferpox epoxy paint, or bonda zinc primer, then coating with a BH wax like dynax (cavities) or the UB stuff for more hard wearing places.
 
True Vilguy, which is good because he can then choose one of whats recommended and more convenient for him to get..nothing wrong about many recommending all the good stuff.

I like wax but what happened to spraying the underside with old engine oil once a year.

Lots of garages used to do it for you. Suppose its none PC now.
 
That seems to be how it goes...
Have a look for the bilt hamber university salt spray tests - they are quite revealing, though they only cover underbody waxes, not paints like por15
 
Nobody has mentioned yet that painting his chassis is going to be a tad more difficult than getting some cavity wax on there! Huge diff between waxoyl/dynax/dinitrol and paint!

I'd go for dinitrrol myself.
 
Thanks for all the advice so far guys - now I'm even more confused!!!! I'm liking the sound of the Dinitrol though - has anyone else used this and which one do I need to cover all the underneath running gear and get into the chassis?
 
Dinitrol ml3125 for inside chassis and bulkhead. 4941 for exterior chassis 445 for inside arches. You will need a air compressor and gun. Get it steam cleaned first.
 
Wow - if that test is to be believed then there's no question! Looks like I'll be going for the Dynax! Next stupid question - any idea how much I'll need to do a 110?
