After searching some threads I found that there wasn't much on here for someone wanting to get a Waxoyl done in Kent. Most companies seem to be north of the M25. Anyway I found a company in Ashford called Channel Commercials. They have quoted me £180 = +vat to clean and waxoyl the bottom of the Landy. They don't do inside door panels but for that price I can get some spray on myself at a later date open the doors and get on with it. The bits i can do are the underside and the clean. Anyway. I will post how it goes and my opinion and hopefully some pics of their work for any others looking for someone in Kent.

So far so good, she is booked in next week on the 29th till the 30th. They need two days, first day to clean and dry, second day to waxoyl. They have been great, very helpful and will provide pics for us.

I'd be interested to hear how you get on, as I'm thinking about getting my DII done.

Hey All,

So Disco II has gone in this morning. So far brilliant, really friendly service, guys know what they are talking about. They have done a few Landys before. The mainly do DAF truck etc so the kit is pretty high end. Well we will see ho it goes. Will post the results soon. with loads of pics. If you want it doing you can contact Adam Ingleton at Channel Commercials on 0844 247 7742. They have facilities in Ashford, Canterbury, Strood and Sevenoaks. Not sure if the Waxoyl is available at all of these but always worth an ask. Mention that you read about it on Landyzone. You never know??

huh, just thought about it, if the treatment lasts 2 years, (thats with off roading etc, I know its 5, but thats if your a road user), that works out to be £9 a month. cool.

Hi DougR

Have been interested in your post. What sort of cleaning was involved? Was it just a steam clean, or did they go further than that ie wire brush or whatever?

The chassis of my TD5 is (I think!!) still reasonably sound, but there is quite a lot of surface rust and I have been advised that I ought to give it some tlc to prevent a rapid deterioration.

I am minded to use someone such as "Rustmaster" to do job, but I am also a bit anxious about leaving rust under the sealing process.

Hi Ya, like most of the people that are out there they use really high pressure washers. I have just posted some pics of what mine looked like after the wash. Pity I didn't have some before, I am amazed at how much got blasted off. In my opinion from seeing before the wash and after I don't think I could have got much more off. I looked at rust master etc and really got put off by the hard sell. Their price is also way over the top. These guys don't do inside doors etc, Since i have a D2 same as you not an issue as they are ali. So no biggy there. Its really worth doing and at the price I paid, affordable every 2 years. That way when they clean the old stuff of to renew it, i can check the chassis over and over.

Doug,

Thanks for your report and your pictures

That looks like a pretty good job for the money.

I will probably get my Discovery done there as well.
