hi guys, im new to here so just a quick hello...hello

rite, i was off roading 2day and gettin along nicely till i hit some water, was deeper than i thought and it killed the engine
an hours drying time later it was as good as new so im thinking it was the distributor cap. i have a snorkel so it wasnt water in the engine. does any1 here have any tips on waterproofing it and anything els that is needed to drown my engine bay?

thanks :)

coil, leads, dizzy, plugs all need protecting

a favorite for the dizzy is using a rubber glove a lead through each finger then tape them up,

give everthing a good coating of wd40

get a rad muff or if you cant get one get an old potato/seed sack and put that over the rad before wading and keep a bow wave

walk the lineyou plan to take before driving it this will not only tell you the depth it will also tell you what the bottom is like(rocks/sharp objects that will puncture tyres

yeah the other thread on here was pretty good on this sortta thing, i had an idea that i might try.... buying some insulation foam and cuttin strips off that and putting them between the bonnet and front wing panels to try and stop some of the water goin into the engine bay from the top!? might work i dont know ill let everyone know! what i wanna know is how to stop some of the water coming in through the bottom of the doors!

There is a bonnet seal yu can buy.

i am doosel!!! i should probably think about fitting it with a rubber ring or something or strap an out board motor on the back to power out of any trouble!?

thats a good bow wave he get goin! i was gonna make a snorker with down pipe and hose, saw a thread on here about it and it looked pretty smart. still my outboard idea could work....
