When you see the temperature rise, switch the air con off and see if the temperature falls, if it does it would be reasonable to assume that the temperature rise is due, as Irish say's, to the pre-heated air from the condensor going through the engine rad.
The whole cooling system seem to be marginal in it's ability to cool the engines sufficiently, especially on the V8.
As soon as I'm a little less busy with the holiday season, I intend to modify the condensor electric cooling fan circuitry so that they operate both from the existing aircon control circuits and in addition from engine temperature via an adjustable thermostatic switch on the engine coolant top hose.
With my diesel, in hot weather (30C or more) on uphill drags, I can either tow the caravan or have airconditioning on. If I do both the engine temperature starts to rise long before the fans cut in which worries me.
