Have a new leak into the Drivers footwell, it appears to be coming in above where the clutch pedal would be, but of course could be tracking from anywhere.

Its not from the Aircon as this gave up the ghost a couple of years ago and it is not engine coolant as its clear and there is to much water in the footwell and the coolant level has not dropped.

Anyone got any ideas apart from windscreen which i will check on the weekend.

Mad hat thanks for the quick reply, where is the best place to look for this problem, engine compartment or underneat - not sure where the strengthening plate is

Have you had the windscreen replaced ,recently. Very common for water to run down A post down behind dash and onto floor , this is what happened to mine . Also could be bloked aircon drain pipe if Carpet is wet up by foot air vent . And worse case press your finger into wet carpet and touch on tongue if sweet to taste the could be heater matrix leaking

I have a similar leak. Heavyduty rubber matts catch the drip from the cardboard trim under the glove box. There is a cut out and if I put my finger in I can feel the foam lining behind the card is slightly damp. Interesting to hear the bukhead theory but mine gets wet when parked sloping backwards slightly.

The experience I had was water running down where the clutch pedal is on the drivers side, if you remove the wipers and the scuttle panel you can see the wiper mechanism it's secured I with a number of 10mm head bolts, the one I replaced was all bubbled up with corrosion both sides and you could see the water marks I the inside, replaced with a new motor assy. And all has been well since, if you have someone to give you a hand it is much easier if you remove the bonnet but not impossible with the bonnet in place just a bit fiddly

Hope this helps

Turns out it was the Windscreen wiper plate

The three screws where a bit loose so have now retightened, did notice there was a little movement each time the wipers reached the end of their travel
