Hello........yet more woh to complain about!

i have never noticed this untill it came back from its MOT, water in the boot locker? thought it was sometrhing spilled by landy stealer....but alas no it keeps apearing once i have dried it up........where does it come from? i can find no holes in boot floor and top carpet is bone dry so rules out a leak.

It's yer emergency water supply fer when yer HG fails.

I had the same problem - it's caused by leaks round yer rear window / door

This is a problem that you will find is documented and fairly easily sorted.

The problem varies from condensation on the lid of the cubby - which is solved by airing it occasionally! - to inches of water in the cubby.

Officially, these are the fixes:
Known Problems Body
Known Problems Body

However, try a forum search for "cubby box" and you will see there are other options. The simplist is to drill a hole in the floor of the cubby and create a drain.

The reason the carpet isn;t wet is that the water finds a way behind the carpet and tracks down the gap between the carpet and the bodywork.

Cheers

the problem is most likley condensation build up ,,, YES THATS RIGHT ,,nothing more than condensation,

dry the locker out you best you can and leave the lid open, and that should cure the problem, its only taken me 3 years to suss this out:rolleyes:

i was going to drill a few ventilation holes in the lid, but not got round to it yet

I have the same problem as the originator, (plus a few more). As I rated it as minor, compared to hgf and clutch release rod seizing I hadn't had time to investigate this one. What did I do with all my time and money before I bought a troublander? I will follow your advice. Thanks very much.

I'll add my name to the list of people suffering this as well.

Might try putting a couple of sachets of dessicated silica gel in there to help keep it dry. If that fails then a drain hole sounds like the best course of action. Don't want my recovery rope to get mouldy.
