Hello all,

Had a quick look through the forums so sorry if I've missed an already posted topic.

I changed the fuel filter on my D2 TD5 earlier today and since then the water in fuel warning light is permanently on the dash when the engine is running. It did not come on at all before changing the filter. I can't see how there can be any water in the system and I've got a fair bit of fuel in the tank so it is not running low. I wondered if anyone has any advice. I've heard they can be dodgy sensors and I did spill some diesel on it so sprayed it with WD40. Should I just buy a new sensor off ebay? I would leave it and see what happens but need to make a 300 mile journey on Friday and don't want to risk any breakdown with kids in the back in North Wales.

Many thanks

As expected the light goes out when it is unplugged. Will try the contact spray this morning. Seems to be running fine otherwise.

Excellent, well done. It's useful to do all the sensor connections in the engine compartment as well as the main ECU connectors as well with the same stuff.
